It's clear now that tablet PCs are no fad. Beginning with the launch of the high-price, low-powered iPad 1 in April 2010 and culminating with the release of the low-price, high-powered Nexus 7 in July 2012, tablets have gone from being a niche, luxury-only computing peripheral to the latest must-have accessory.

New iPad vs. Top Android Tablets: Specs Compared

New iPad vs. Top Android Tablets: Specs Comparednew-ipad-asus-transformer-prime-or-samsung-galaxy-note-which-tablet-to-buy

This time around, the Apple iPad rumor mill was mostly right on. With the Apple's third-generation tablet, we got a super-high-res 2,048-by-1,536-pixel Retina Display powered by a beefed-up A5X CPU, a better camera, and fast 4G LTE on AT&T or Verizon. This all brings up the eternal tablet question again: iPad or Android?
Though the battle might seem a bit lopsided, we felt it was important to compare Apple's latest tablet with the best Android tablets available right now. A slew of promising quad-core Android slates like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Toshiba AT270 were announced at Mobile World Congress, but specs and release dates aren't solid. Of what we've seen coming down the pike, the forthcoming Asus Transformer Infinity matches the new iPad closest on specs, but with no release date announced, who knows when we'll see it? If you're considering the new iPad when it's released next Friday, the tablets in the chart below are some of the best large-screen Androids we've tested—and they're available
now.

Just like last year at Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, Google’s booth is a playground. The search behemoth behind the Android mobile operating system is using its share of expensive tradeshow floor square footage as a place for OS and app developers along with enthusiasts to hang out, do business, get nourished, and have fun. More importantly, the company is showing off its dominance as the unquestionable number-one smartphone operating system provider. (For now, at least, of course.)

Android Design' Style Guide andoid-design

What makes something an "Ice Cream Sandwich" device? What does it mean to embody the spirit of Android? To help answer these questions, Google on Thursday unveiled Android Design, a guide for how to create the best Android apps and interfaces.
Android Design is "the place to learn about principles, building blocks, and patterns for creating world-class Android user interfaces," Christian Robertson, head of the Android visual design group, said in a blog post. "Whether you're a UI professional or a developer playing that role, these docs show you how to make good design decisions, big and small."
Robertson said Google is "committed to helping you design amazing apps that people love," and promised more in-depth content on Android Design, as well as design-related blog posts and Google+ Hangouts, in the coming months.

Apple iPhone 5 Could See October Release!

Apple could release the iPhone 5 in October, according to latest rumors. But questions remain about actual features.iphone 5

Apple’s next iPhone could see its debut in September—or maybe October. It will likely come with Apple’s proprietary A5 processor and an 8-megapixel camera, but it’s more questionable whether the case will undergo a fundamental redesign. As for the device’s official name, you could probably place money just as easily on “iPhone 4S” as “iPhone 5”—or both, if Apple chooses to launch a whole new line of cheaper iPhones to complement its annual high-end device.
The ramp-up to the launch of each new Apple product sometimes plays out like the tech-world version of Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot,” in which confusion reigns.
